The Split Leaf Philodendron also called a Philodendron Monstera, Swiss Cheese plant, Mexican breadfruit, or Hurricane plant, is a very popular easy-care houseplant. Split Leaf Philodendron grow somewhat and can develop leaves that are up to 3′ Long & 2′ Wide. If you need a big, tropical, low maintenance plant, these are perfect for you. The Edible fruits, called cerimans, taste like a combination of banana, pineapple & mango and are high in potassium & vitamin C. Plants are living growing organisms and their sizes, nutrition, and water requirements vary all over the growing season. We try to provide images that most as it should be represent our plants but sizes can vary all over the year. Extreme temperature changes and rough handling all over shipping can be tough on living plants and they may need some TLC when they arrive. Gently wipe the leaves with a damp cloth, check the soil for moisture, and place the plant inside in an area with plenty of indirect sunlight. Wait a week or two before moving or repotting to allow the plant to acclimate to its new home and do not overwater. Overwatering is without doubt one of the most common problems with plant care. The Philodendron does not like to take a seat in water and the top couple of inches of soil should be dry before you water it. We are unable to ship this plant to California because of restrictions by the California Department of Agriculture. If you have pets who are plant chewers please be aware that this plant can be somewhat toxic to cats and dogs.
