Description
Calendula, also known as as ‘Pot Marigold’, is a yellow or orange colored flower often found in northern Mediterranean countries. This herb is on a regular basis used in households as a coloring and flavoring agent for foods as rice, cereals and soups. On the other hand, the Calendula tea constituted of the petals of the Calendula flower has been brewed as a natural medicine for thousands of years. As with a few of the herbal teas, the Calendula tea also has a variety of health benefits. To prepare the tea, dried marigold flowers are steeped in hot water (on a regular basis 90 to 95 degrees Celsius after cooling from a boil) in either a teapot, cup, or glass; regularly rock sugar could also be added. The resulting drink is transparent and ranges from pale to bright yellow in color, with a floral aroma.
