Description
Vitex (Vitex Agnus-Castus) is a tree-like shrub 4-8 m high. The entire plant is gray-tomentose from dense pressed hairs. Taproot is well-branched, with numerous adventitious roots. The leaves are large, green in color. Flowers are a lot of, lavender, collected in dense intermittent paniculate-spike inflorescences on the tops of the branches. Four stamens projecting high above the corolla. The corolla is pale blue. The fruit is a black, dry, four-celled spherical drupe 3-4 mm in diameter. Vitex blooms from June to late October; bears fruit in October-November.
