Terra is an ink drawn plant tarot deck. This deck started as a passion project created by a biologist, and has evolved into a loving mediation on plants and their implausible lives. There is so much inspiration that may be found on the planet of plants. It is a full, 78 card deck including the full minor and major arcanas. Cards measure 2.75″ x 4.75″ (standard tarot deck size). Each card has been lovingly hand drawn, and features a stunning black and white ink-on-paper style. All major arcana and minor court cards are illustrated with meaningful plant allies. Number cards are thematic pips that relate to the element and meaning of the suit, allowing you freedom of interpretation. This listing also comes with a matching booklet which is full of plant lore, stories and mythologies. Every card is explained, with detailed information about its plant inspiration, and what lessons we humans can learn from these powerful plant allies. It is a collection of mythology and plant lore. Many of these tales are ancient, spanning the history of human language. For so long as we’ve communicated with one another, we have shared tales of these precious plants which nourish us, inspire us, guide us, and transport us. All human cultures across time have shared wisdom learned from plants. This deck draws inspiration from the lives of our botanical allies, finding meaning in their growth, their perseverance through adversity, their grace and beauty. The artwork of this deck, and this accompanying text is a celebration of the organisms that give life to our entire planet. Without plants, all other life on Earth would die.
