Fenugreek (Trigonella foenum-graecum) is an annual plant in the circle of relatives Fabaceae, with leaves consisting of three small obovate to oblong leaflets. It’s an herb very similar to clover that may be native to the Mediterranean region, southern Europe, and western Asia. The seeds are used in cooking, to make medicine, or to hide the taste of other medicine. Major fenugreek-producing countries are Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iran, Nepal, Bangladesh, Argentina, Egypt, France, Spain, Turkey, and Morocco, but the largest producer is India.
