The Authentic Foods Arrowroot Flour is extracted from the foundation of the marantha arundinacea which is indigenous to the West Indies. Arrowroot Flour is best to make use of in gluten-free and corn-free cooking. It may be used within the following ways: Instead for Cornstarch (2 teaspoons Arrowroot flour = 1 tablespoon Cornstarch); as a flour substitute by myself or mixed with rice flour for gluten-free baking. If used by myself, the substitution is 1 teaspoon Arrowroot flour = 1 tablespoon wheat flour; as a thickening agent for sauces, fruit pie fillings, glazes, and puddings. Directions to be used as Thickening Agent: Cool the liquid you wish to thicken. Then mix in a tablespoon or so of the Authentic Foods Arrowroot Flour. Heat the mixture until it thickens. Arrowroot flour is corn-free, dairy-free, soy-free, nut-free and certified kosher. It’s non-GMO and great for Paleo baking.
