Description
Ginger is a flowering plant that originated from China.
It belongs to the Zingiberaceae circle of relatives, and is closely related to turmeric, cardomon and galangal.
The rhizome (underground a part of the stem) is the part usually used as a spice. It’s continuously known as ginger root, or simply ginger.
The unique fragrance and flavor of ginger come from its natural oils, a very powerful of which is gingerol.
Ginger can be utilized fresh, dried, powdered, or as an oil or juice, and is now and again added to processed foods and cosmetics. This can be a very common ingredient in recipes.
