Frontier Annatto Seeds are odorless when aged and feature an astringent, pepper-like taste. These small, reddish-brown seeds, derived from the annatto tree, are used to impart a wealthy yellow color and gentle, unique flavor to foods such as rice and sauces.
Directions:
Cover seeds with water and simmer for 5 minutes. Flip off the warmth and soak in water for an hour. Cool before grinding.
Native to tropical Central and South The united states but now widely distributed all the way through the tropics. Currently the 2 largest producing/exporting countries are Peru and Kenya.
